Widowers on their grief journey struggle to find resources to deal with their journey in the way a man thinks and relates. There are very good counselors and grief groups but because of demographics and actuarial realities, there are more women than men. I have personally found it much easier to open up to other men about my journey, even though God did give me the ability to share this with all in my small groups and church.
Men are wired differently. The way we process “problems” and emotions really requires another man to come alongside who has “been there.” That is why I started this blog – I want to help my fellow widower band of brothers to walk this journey together just as David and his mighty men did! I will provide insight from my journey and suggest tools and books that have helped me get to where I am 5 years into the journey.
I will say that without the love of God, I could not be where I am today!
To God be the glory!
